Dr. Catherine Browne is an experienced Board Certified Ob/Gyn with the American Board of Osteopathic Obstetricians & Gynecologists. Dr. Browne went into women’s medicine because as a woman, she felt connected to female patients and desired to provide comprehensive and up-to-date medical care. She majored in chemistry at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, where she taught workshops on alcohol awareness and date rape awareness.
After college, Dr. Browne worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, and later at an allergy and asthma research center. Dr. Browne then went to medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, IL. After graduating, she completed her internship and residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. In total, she served 7 years in the United States Army providing medical care to active duty women and military wives.
Following her service in the U.S. Army, Dr. Browne devoted 2 years to serving the indigent and uninsured in Montgomery, Texas. She moved to Austin, TX Fall of 2011, with her husband and their two young children, ages three and seven and soon after joined Capital Ob/Gyn Associates of Texas. Her gentle and reassuring manner is a great fit with the staff of Capital Ob/Gyn Associates of Texas.
Dr. Browne places an emphasis on compassionate communication with her patients, ensuring that each woman feels that her needs are being heard. She continues in her passion to benefit the community through serving as Medical Director at Austin LifeCare and Secretary/Treasurer for the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA).
